From an early age, Kathy was drawn to the art of
telling stories. She comes from a large extended
family rich in creativity, with many musicians,
artists and writers sprinkled throughout her
family tree. As Kathy grew older she switched
from telling stories to
writing them, eventually pursuing a
career in broadcast journalism. But it was
only a matter of time until she felt the
familiar creative tug luring her back to the
imaginary world of pretend
. She began
writing for children and soon rediscovered her
love of storytelling as well.
Nowadays Kathy indulges her passion for storytelling in many ways: through helping children create their own stories, by working with teachers to give them insight into the creative process and, of course, by telling stories whenever she can to whoever will listen.
The power of story - don’t leave home without it and never, never, never underestimate it.
